Belwood Quarry Offices
Atlanta Watershed Department
Instructor: Bill Jackson, 2009.
Located approximately two miles west of Midtown Atlanta surrounded by industrial complexes to the north and east, and residential developments to the south and west, the Belwood Quarry has been acquired by the City of Atlanta for use in the BeltLine project. The current plan is to convert the quarry hole into a reservoir, and the surrounding land into a public park. Within this framework, this project proposes a consolidation of the scattered Atlanta Watershed Department offices into one complex, adjacent to their new reservoir. The building would house 150 employees of the department. In addition to office space, this requires wet labs, a library, an auditorium, and a 4,000 square foot interpretive center for visitors.
Modeled with Revit 2009, detail section is AutoCAD.
